South Africa's fibre growth: why a coverage-first approach wins better business
A street can have fibre without every unit being ready to connect. That simple distinction is why successful Fibre sales begin with an address and a coverage check, not a promise based on a suburb name.

What the network operator reported
Openserve's 18 November 2025 announcement reported 756,409 homes connected, up 18.1%, and a 52.0% connectivity rate for the six months to 30 September 2025. Fibre-related data revenue increased 10.1%. These are historical operator results, not a live coverage count or a guarantee of availability at any address.
Our interpretation: a growing installed footprint creates more opportunities for resellers, but every sale still needs address-level validation and a clear explanation of the installation journey.
Use the National Fibre Coverage Map first
OpenWeb's National Fibre Coverage Map helps resellers find eligible networks at an installation address and see matching packages. When OpenServe coverage is available, the journey prioritises the relevant OpenServe options. Other supported networks can present Consumer / Small Business and Business / Enterprise options where available.
Confirm the premises, unit details and the client's contact information. A coverage result is the starting point: admin checks the order and records the provider order reference before activation is completed.
Build a quote around the whole service
A useful Fibre quotation explains the monthly service, the applicable hardware deposit, the minimum term and cancellation rules. Deposits and early-cancellation terms differ between OpenServe and other networks, and between consumer and business services. Use the current checkout summary rather than borrowing a figure from another plan.
Business connectivity can be appropriate for offices running voice, cloud applications and remote access. Ask about upload needs and business priorities, then compare the actual plan features. Do not assume every Fibre package has identical contention, routing or service commitments.
The reseller panel keeps the provider order reference visible during installation. OpenServe activation requires the correct B Circuit details; final welcome details include the WiFi settings supplied during fulfilment.
